Hills wrapped in suede, geometric salt lakes Trees, trees, trees Undeniably beautiful music Unregrettably, longing fills me When the moon is full I'll have to go Into the wild (x3) I am but a child, a child who needs her mother Went walking by the river Sweet talking, a strange swim I thought I found a golden gem When the paint started to chip I threw it back again Someone else will see it shine and pick it up to hold awhile Sweaty palms take their toll, and the paint begins to chip I thought I could trust you like a rock In truth, no further than I could toss Wrap it up all nice & pretty (x6) I'll wear the landscape into the city But when the moon is full I'll have to go Into the wild (x3) I am but a child, a child who needs her mother

My People 04:07
I came to you heels cracked and dry You soothed my skin and moisturized I came to you eyes red and weeping You fixed me up good and left me sleeping I came to you once hungry and tired Thanks to you I am still here I have survived Because people, they want to be good All kinds of people, you know we need to be good And we may not agree, but I see you doing what you think you should So I'll thank you all and I'll let you be good I came to you weary and worn Barely held together, edges all ripped and torn You are the thread that patched my weave Please know that I'll be here should you ever need (x2) Because people, I know you want to be good All kinds of people, you know we need to be good And you may not agree, but I see you doing what you think should So I'll thank you all and I'll let you be good I came to you scraped up and bruised You have me medicine and a space to use I came to you naked and scared I'll let go of all fear now, I know you're there You are the thread that patched my weave Please know that I'll be here should you ever need (x2) Because people, I know you want to be good All kinds of people, you know we need to be good And I may not agree, but I see you doing what you think should So I'll thank you all and I'll let you be good Oh my people, I see you doing good Oh my people (x2)

Ostara 03:42
Merci Mama for the ground on which I stand Merci Mama for the part you play in the great big plan Merci Mama for the goodness that you grow Send a message to my starving parts Show me the wisdom I need to know Show me the wisdom I know you know Show me the wisdom I know I know I know, I know Wishing is a hollow thing suspended in the sky Somewhere between hopes and dreams while the stars are begging you to try Oh the stars, they're begging you to try Ostara, won't you guide my way? Give me seeds to sow, and let the rains fall wet and slow Wet and slow And sweet July bring the heat, a sense of warmth within Knowing you are loved young one, the knowing may begin Twinkle twinkle little star How I wonder just what you are? Shine your light into my soul Show me the wisdom I know I know I know, I know Wishing is a hollow thing suspended in the sky Somewhere between hopes and dreams while the stars are begging you to try Oh the stars, they beg you to try They say: "Come on, and give it a try Come on, just give it a try I'll meet you halfway on this ride"

Walk with me down dim lit streets The trees are rather haunted You look at me with heated eyes and square your meaty haunches Wrap me with your love tentacles Bite me on the ankle Smack me with the tip . . . of your tail (Chorus) All creatures need love, don't we my pretty? But at some point I'll have to stop Petting you all over, petting you all over! Then you'll go your way and I'll go mine Just like one day you will die, and so will I I'm told a cat has generous claws and he knows how to wield them But I've got friends with sharper teeth and finer wags than me Don't make me have to kick you in your soft little belly You keep your distance, it's just as well Wrap me with your love tentacles Bite me on the ankle Smack me with the tip . . . of your tail (Chorus)
5.
Hey, don't you think it's about right, darling For you, for you to turn me on? I have waited all this while for you And now it seems I must be gone But don't ya think we could maybe find a way To fall for love? My schedule, it's pretty packed these days I'm busy dancing to the beat of my own drum But here I am, kinda hiding out in this den carved from sand And there you are Here we are (Chorus) Don't go too far from me, don't come to close (x2) (Storytime) If you could read my mind, love What a tale my thoughts would tell Too much time spent up in a tower and deep down a hollow wishing well Rescue my heart! Let me love, fearless and free I'll don my satin armour, and mount my noble steed But here I still am, definitely still hiding out in this den I carved from sand And there you are Here we are (Chorus)

I Need A Man 04:44
I need a man, vulnerable and shy Maybe scared to say how he feels but he mans up and tries I need a man who knows how to see me hurt Not to carry the load, but to stand Just to bear it, and not desert Be my witness but not get hurt Cuz my pain is my own No, you'll never squeeze me hard enough to get it all out But please calmly hold me if I cry and scream and writhe about (Chorus) And I'm down to ___ with you But this you can bet We'll be talkin afterwards Say my name babe, then something i wouldn't expect Say sweet little words (x3) I need a man who has faced his own demons and continues to move through their wake I need a man who loves me complete, and whole Someone to speak to my mind, to sing great nothings to my soul I'll take care of him, he'll be home to me Being so close to another never felt so free I need a man who can break my heart to be true to himself Who lives in his joy, defaults to gratitude still, when there is nothing else I need a man who can let his guard down and play for a while Someone who knows how to wind me down and make me smile (Chorus)
7.
I am blind, can't recognize the signs Can't tell my truth from my own lies Don't apologize There's been no long term harm And yeah, it's been a while It's been a while It's been a while and I'm still charmed I still . . . . And you know I still . . . . And you know I still eat I get enough sleep I work and I play and I breathe While between the lines between the lines I still dream of you (x2) And I still can't decide No I can't tell If you're good for me or bad for my health
8.
I cry to you for I've so much to do I'm so occupied by all the lovely sights along the drive I whine and sigh despite the contentment I feel inside I weep and moan, life is so fine (x2) My left brain knows it's reality and how to take charge and the right side provides a sense of blissfulness so very large I weep and moan, life is so fine (x2) When it's so awfully hard to pick a favourite of all that charm Well you know it's good when all you desire is vying for your time I weep and moan, life is so fine (x2) Oh I analyze the things I cannot change and all the while My worried brow too far ahead, I've left my smile behind I weep and moan, life is so fine (x2) And I have chosen this and I continue now to walk my own laid path The stones are placed, and I don't know how but I'm standing here and this is all I know and all I have I weep and moan, life is so fine (x2)
9.
Salty Peach 04:39
Let's ride the tide out to sea Adrift under stormy skies Tossin' and turnin' Our juices a-churnin' You drown and fall on top of me Oh, my salty peach Where oh where oh where have you been? (x3) Oh, my salty peach Won't you satiate me? Let's float along on a lake so placid Oh, the acidity Oh, the absurdity! Breathe deep, give ourselves rest Savour the sweetness Relish the riches of a softly heaving breast Oh, my salty peach Where oh where oh where have you been? (x2) Oh, my salty peach Who have you seen? Juicy, delicious, smacking with kisses rosy with wishes, dripping with goodness Oh, my salty peach Won't you satiate me?
10.
Why won't the world just let me grow fat and old in my skin Without telling me that clearly it's not fit to live in? Oh the home that I know, it is hollow and dry And no-one lives inside We are ghosts in these bodies, we are hosts for our minds Which take over and lead us till we're blind from all sides And I have followed this tunnel down to the very bitter end Wasted and exhausted now I start again And I know, oh I know I have been here before Sunk so deep I can't reach the floor boards I must change, I must change, I must re-arrange things again If I died one hundred times Choked, stoned and burned I would only return When my skin has thinned and worn And my skeleton has dissembled and blown away . . . My spirit will survive, my spirit it is alive (x2) We are ghosts in these bodies, we are hosts for our minds Which take over and lead us till we're blind from all sides And I have followed this tunnel down to the very bitter end Wasted and exhausted now I start again And I know, oh I know I have been here before Lifted so high I can't see the sky anymore And I know, oh I know I have been here before Sunk so deep I can't reach the floor boards I must change, I must change I must re-arrange things again (x2)
11.
The moon in it's ring, expansive and bright reflects the light of the sun And it circles around while the earthlings have fun and the earth orbits round the sun (Chorus) You take off your shoes to get closer to earth and I smile and sigh, don't know which one came first Cuz it's so damn romantic The way that you coax me to spread myself wide to the moon Ooooh . . . Stretches of blackberry bramble, guarded by oak tree and rock Grasses and flowers watching over us now Sacred space without doors or lock And to lull us to sleep The dear cosmos provides a perfectly balanced mobile Divine timing aligns, all the stars on our side Twinkle brightly to light up the sky Sing a song of desire and stoke up a fire To fuel our own cosmic mobile While the moon in it's ring, expansive and bright reflects the light of the sun And it circles around while the earthlings have fun and the earth orbits round the sun (Chorus) Sweet caress of my skin, heat rising within Paled by the cool wash of moon

Source 04:10
My love is in the smile that greets you in the morning and my love is in the softness of grass, rising to meet you and everyday, everyday my love walks for miles in your shoes My love is in the dew that's drying, as the sun keeps on rising And rising, ah-ah My love lofts on leaves, soars on the air And my love fills the subtle spaces, can you feel it there? Can you see, it is there saying: "You are enough, this is enough for my love" (x2) My love is in the sweat that you give And on your brow it lies in your sweet crevices, whispering: "You are enough, this is enough for my love" (x2) My love you find in dreams It lines the pages of each miraculous scene, crying: "You are enough, this is enough for my love" (x2) My love is carried in your worries and your woes Through triumph and sorrows, it goes where you go cheering: "You are enough, this is enough for my love" (x2)
13.
Lovey Dovey 05:04
(Chorus) Lovey dovey, lovey dovey all of the time (x3) Baby don't be such a tease I just wanna love you, yeah I'm down on my knees Baby, why you looking so green? Hold your chin up, keep your dirty shirt clean Keep it together, try looking real sharp Cuz staying alive is a very fine art when it's (Chorus) Ya know, the whole world is fallin' in love We're shooting the whales and beaching the doves Now ain't that a honeymoon Well the wedding was sweet but it ended too soon I was all drunk on champagne and prescription drugs I don't know what happened, I just heard a thud and a boom A thud and a boom A thud and a boom boom boom boom (Chorus) Now smile with that aperture Oh, you lookin' so happy! Are you so sure? That portrait you made of your face It hides your under eye bags but it won't hide your race, no You be a human So come on use those legs honey and take a stand Do what you know to be right If you're just gonna bark all the time I'm gonna have to pick a fight If you just bark all the time I'm gonna pick a fight (x2) So show me, your best, your biggest best bite! Oh show me, show me, your best, your biggest best bite! (Chorus & outro)

about

Marina Lagacé Vancouver, British Columbia

My Mama tells me I used to sing myself to sleep in my crib. I don't have much memory for those early years, but I can't really remember a time without music either.

Trained in musical theatre, opera and classical voice, it was only a few years ago I discovered I could sing with a rock band.

Now I'm composing my own songs. Inspired by the earth, friendship, love, community, life, death & cats.
